Instagram favs - Photo by @andywcoleman // The crown jewel of the Coyote Buttes North Wilderness area is a place known as the Wave. This area is restricted to only 20 permit holders a day and transports you to an otherworldly terrain. Getting there is not easy - it is a three mile hike across hilly, rocky and sandy desert. There are no facilities, so you need to bring a lot of water along with your camera gear. The effort is worth it, though, as you could spend the entire day photographing in and around this site. The heart of the Wave - best photographed during midday when there are no shadows. I stepped back a little from the "classic" shot of the Wave to get a bit of a different perspective. @natgeocreative
