This wonderful book is Werner's Nomenclature of Colours (1821) Patrick Syme which Charles Darwin had aboard his library on the Beagle. He used it to note down the exact shade of the plants, birds and animals he sketched so they could be accurately reproduced back home. pic.twitter.com/ESxuXvmaJN
